Dark Skies (City of Rocks, New Mexico)
November 11 - 12
An impromptu night at City of Rocks in lieu of a hotel near the Bosque del Apache. I'd already sent a lot of stargazing gear home and expected to spend my last days in NM gawking at the arrival of a buzzillion cranes. But then I found myself driving under a crystal clear sky and I decided a night of camping at City of Rocks was more in keeping with The Plan. It's a stargazing trip, damnit. Leave the anorexic turkeys alone.
